1🍁
Create a global Nexon account
Global MapleStory uses a nexon.com account, separate from Korean Nexon accounts.
Do this
Open nexon.com and press Sign Up (or use the direct link below).
Enter email, password and birth date, accept the terms.
Click the link in the verification email — unverified accounts cannot log in.
Turn on two-step verification in account security.
Before you start
South Korea is not in the country list; Nexon expects the account country to match where you are, so picking another country is a Terms-of-Service risk.

Prepare a VPN / route
Nexon does not offer Global MapleStory in regions with their own MapleStory service, including Korea.
Do this
Option 1 — a VPN app (e.g. Proton VPN): connect to an overseas server, then start the launcher. Screens below are Proton VPN's official installer.
Option 2 — route optimizers (ExitLag, LagoFast…): they lower ping; their makers say they are not VPNs and do not guarantee access from Korea.
Nexon has not published the server location — try a few regions and keep the one that connects with the lowest ping.
Then open the launcher and log in; avoid switching VPN servers mid-game.
1. Download the Windows installer2. Run the installer3. Choose components4. Log in and Quick Connect
Before you start
Nexon support: VPNs are not explicitly disallowed, but using one to break the Terms can mean a permanent ban, and may cause trouble with purchases, item recovery and Item Guard.
Third-party overlays or "Korean patches" can trigger anti-cheat; real-money trading is against the Terms.

Install the Nexon Launcher
Classic World is a small standalone client in the Nexon Launcher — no need to install regular MapleStory.
Do this
Install the Nexon Launcher and log in.
Go to Games → MapleStory and switch on "MapleStory Classic World".
Press Download, then Play.
On Steam it installs with MapleStory, needs one Nexon↔Steam link, and you pick "Global MapleStory Classic World" at world select. The store page is region-blocked from Korea.
